Elise & Seth // Willmar Municipal Airport

When looking back at 2018, one of our most memorable venues was in an airplane hangar. Yep, you heard that right, AN AIRPLANE HANGAR. So incredibly cool, and perfectly executed at the Willmar Municipal Airport full of lush, hanging greenery and white floral. Photographed by Lovely Day Fleur and coordinated by Style-Architects Wedding, it’s a day that will go down in the books!

Lindsay & Jim // Hutton House

Anyone else watching the snow fall heavy today? When we think of snow on a wedding day, it generally gives a florist a little anxiety (hello April 2018 snow storm to remember!!), but Lindsay and Jim’s celebration was a different story. On a magical December day, the snow fell heavy after our sweet couple said their I do’s, and it was the PERFECT accent to their wintergreen wedding. With pine trees and white blooms, Hutton House was transformed into a real life snow globe, and we can’t help but smile looking back.

Grace & Bo // Minikahda Country Club

Before we get into Grace and Bo’s special day, Minnesota Bride Magazine Best of 2019 has opened! If you could vote for Sadie’s and five more of your favorite Minnesota wedding vendors (6 total!), that would mean the world to us. Click here to vote and make your voice heard. Now, back to the blog. :)

Sometimes, less is more.

There is something about a bundle flowers placed in a vase that will always be charming, so why not mix it with the timeless beauty of Minikahda Country Club to make a picture perfect wedding? Grace and Bo’s day was full of lush white floral and greenery, which matched the famous green wallpaper (that we adore!) at Minikahda. The ceremony was anchored by hydrangea balls, and the reception sported simple vases of tulips, roses, and lisianthus to name a few. Planned by Sally Berry and shot by Melissa Oholendt, this was a timeless day to remember.

Kelsey & Kyle // Orchestra Hall

Kelsey and Kyle’s wedding was a lush floral dream at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. With ample natural light and a sleek modern architecture, warming the space up with our floral gave the space an intimate feel, including draping the ceiling with 50 foot garlands. Their wedding is a perfect example of one of our favorite tips - get creative with reusing your flowers! Their bowls had a first life anchoring the aisle on acrylic stands, and then during the flip had a second life as table centerpieces. As well, the bridesmaids bouquets doubled as table centerpieces for the candle looks, giving some extra color and texture. These tricks are the perfect way to get ample use and tie the ceremony and reception together, and if Sadie’s ladies are coming back for a room flip, why not?!

Libbie & Matt // JX Event Venue

Thanks to all of our amazing couples, our wedding season is just now slowing down. With the year coming to an end before we know it (where did 2018 go?!), we are going to touch back on some of the prettiness that we got to create this past year!

JX Event Venue in Stillwater is a haven just a short drive out of the city, and every time we get to design a wedding there it’s almost like a mini vacation for our studio. The charm of the venue and town can’t help but make you smile, which is perfectly accented by this sweet couple and their navy checkered theme. The major focus was lush white floral and greenery accents, taking every opportunity decorate the space from floor to ceiling.

Natalie and Elliott // Historic Hope Glen Farm

Ever see a color palette that just makes you want to smile? That is exactly what burgundy and pink do to us, and we are grinning from ear to ear looking back at Natalie and Elliott’s wedding at the Historic Hope Glen Farm. With the original outdoor ceremony changed up with a sudden downpour of rain, it was moved inside under a lush hanging piece that now doubled as the focal point for the ceremony and reception. Nonetheless, the entire day was beautiful and unique, and Paper Antler Photography perfectly captured the couple’s dreamy vision which we cannot get enough of. I mean, that arch though?! Beautiful!

Prentice & Brian // Nicollet Island Pavilion

Hello color!

As much as we love cream and blush, a pop of color always brightens our day at the studio. Designing this wedding, we couldn’t help but smile! The always fabulous Cadence & Eli Photography killed it with the photos, and we are loving that our flowers are continue to live through them. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so we’ll just let their photos do the talking. ;)

Sarah & Jameson // The Hutton House

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but lucky for you all, I have many pictures (and a video!) to replace my babbling about this unreal celebration. Sarah and Jameson's wedding was the first event we designed at The Hutton House, and what better teammate to work with than Sarah Trotter of Lasting Impressions. The white open walls allowed our floral to create a focal point without competing, and their courtyard housed the perfect home for a ceremony anchored by an organic floral arbor. Some weddings burn into our memory forever, and with the help of Janelle Elise Photography and Josh Flom's videography, we can relive it over and over.

Sarah & Justin // Calhoun Beach Club

Oh what a dream Calhoun Beach Club is for us designers at Sadie's Floral. Bright airy space, ample natural light, and of course, that staircase! Sarah and Justin's design was anchored by their beautiful chuppah composed of birch, curly willow, cream floral, and greenery. Adding greenery to the staircase offered a focal point for when Sarah walked down the aisle, without overpowering the chuppah in the front of the room. Her bouquet and centerpieces echoed that design, along with gold mercury hard goods and candles to pull the whole look together.  It's no secret we love a timeless wedding at Calhoun Beach Club, so always happy to add another one to the books.

Jenny & Travis // Interlachen Country Club

Do you ever stumble upon a new location in the city you have called home for years, only to have your jaw drop with its beauty? That is exactly what happened when we set up the ceremony in BF Nelson park for Jenny and Travis; the view is to die for!  A floral arbor framed the couple and the skyline in an intimate ceremony, followed by a reception at Interlachen Country Club. The whole day radiated nothing short of happiness, and the cream floral and greenery perfectly complimented the wedding party's smiles. Days like these make it very easy for us to love our job.
